Invitation to the Yunnan-Malaysia Business Cooperation cum China • South Asia Expo Promotion Seminar

We are pleased to inform that Mr. Li Jiheng, Governor of Yunnan, China will lead a group of 100 delegates to visit Malaysia on 27-29 March 2013.

During the visit, the People’s Government of Yunnan Province will host the‘Yunnan- Malaysia Business Cooperation cum China • South Asia Expo Promotion Seminar’ on
the following date and venue:

Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Yunnan province, with a population of 46 million, is adjacent to Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and Tibet, and it also shares borders with Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam. It is the only province of China which connects with Southeast Asia and South Asia,
and to Indian Ocean by land. The province is at the intersection of ASEAN Free Trade Area, Greater Mekong Subregion, and Pan-Pearl River Delta, thus giving rise to a vibrant economy. In 2011, the Central Government of China issued a strategic initiative aiming at building Yunnan into a major gateway of China opening up to Southeastern and Southern Asian regions. This means for Yunnan a golden opportunity to realize a giant leap forward in the near future. The Governor of Yunnan will present the unique strength of Yunnan in China’s opening up to Southeastern Asia and South Asia, motivating mutual cooperation in economy & trade, tourism, finance, cultural industry and etc.. The first China-South
Asia Expo to be hosted in Kunming City, Yunnan between 6th and 10th, June, 2013 will be specially promoted as well.
